We at RxSorbo understand that our readers are scattered all across the U.S., and because of that, it may be hard to connect with events/topics that aren’t located near your “hood”. We want to provide you and the rest of our readers with updated lists of upcoming events where RxSorbo insoles can be utilized to their fullest potential. Monthly schedules will be posted (when available) for events such as: marathons, charity walks, triathlons, track and field events, cycling, hockey tournaments, etc. (we can obviously go on and on and basically throw in anything that includes “standing”, but we’ll save your eyes from looking at the screen for too long).

Below is the September, 2010 marathon schedule for events that span from the East to West Coasts. Runners, especially marathon runners, need to pay extra attention to their feet. The added pressure that is being applied to the heel and ball while running can cause continuously growing pain that can affect the overall of outcome of actually being able to finish a race. Whatever shoe you choose to partner with during a marathon, take the extra step and add an insole that will cushion the impact and make running a little more comfortable.

The introduction of the iPhone and its versatile applications (aka: apps) has literally changed the way people function on a day to day basis. Before, people used to have to pull over and ask for directions if they got lost while driving, now an application exists where it will give several routes for getting you destination. Ever have an outdoor event/party your going to and you’re unsure of the weather? There are a bunch of apps that will show you a Doppler image of your area giving a pin point image of how the weather is and what to expect later in the day. To sum things up, there is a pretty good chance there will be an app available for anything that you desire…including running. We wanted to give you RxSorbo’s top 3 iPhone apps purely dedicated to running. Why only 3 you ask? Well……it’ll be easier for you to decide which one to go with instead of looking at 10 option where seven of the suck.

Hopefully these apps will help make tracking your running progress a tad bit easier. Keep in mind the essentials of running: proper hydration, comfort (via insoles), nutrition and the most important of them all, fun. Be sure to check back for more information on running, training, walking, health, insoles, feet, etc.

“High tech running shoes these days are becoming an important part of the overall wardrobe of a good runner. As runners go further and faster and become more physically fit, running shoes help take care of their bodies. For this reason, most running shoes that are good for the body right now have some sort of vibration reduction system in them. There are a few reasons for this and a few ways that this type of system can work.

The main reason for running shoes to have vibration reduction systems is to keep the runner’s body from feeling as much of the impact of the run. Each time a foot slams to the ground, the vibration of that contact is passed up through the body, where it’s especially harmful to the joints. This is especially true when runners are running on super hard surfaces, such as cement. On a soft surface like grass or even asphalt, some of the impact’s vibration is actually absorbed by the ground. This is why even in a bad pair of shoes, you may not be as sore the next day when you’ve been running on these types of surfaces.

Many runner’s shoes seek to absorb some of the impact of landing inside the actual sole of the shoe. In order to do this, they often have foam inserts inside the sole of the shoe. The specialized foam is meant to absorb as much of the impact as possible, thus acting as a vibration reduction tool. Many runners swear by these shoes because they are more comfortable for long runs and help the body stay less sore throughout the run and the next day.

However, the foam used in many running shoes has numerous problems. For one thing, it breaks down very quickly. Serious runners may need to shell out a couple hundred dollars for a new pair of shoes every three to five months. That’s a lot of running shoes in a year! Even if the shoes aren’t being used, the foam can start to break down automatically. This means that even those who don’t run very often will have to get new running shoes once a year or more if they want to reap the benefits of the running shoe foam. Also, the foam isn’t as efficient as other substances. It just happens to be a good one to put inside shoes.

Luckily for runners today, there’s a new type of vibration reduction insert coming out for shoes. This is called Sorbothane Insoles. It’s a rubber-like substance that also has some of the properties of a liquid. It sounds weird, but this essentially means that it can absorb lots of vibration waves. This substance has already been formed into little pads that can be inserted into running or everyday shoes. The advantage of this substance is that it doesn’t break down nearly as fast as foam. Your running shoes will last longer and for more miles utilizing Sorbothane shoe insert rather than one made from foam.”

Its a bittersweet moment for soccer: We’re absolutely going to miss the great comradery between nations and the exciting upset victories by countries less known…..that being said, there are some things that we’re happy to see go: we’re definitely not going to miss all of those career ending fake injuries that happened every 5 minutes (or so it seemed)….and we can finally say good-bye to the ear splitting “Vuvuzelas” that made every game sound as if it were being played next to a gigantic bee hive.

It’s about that time of year. Whether you’re buying the latest and greatest shoe on the market or just simply dusting off the old pair and getting ready for summer, there is always one frequently overlooked aspect that can make make all the difference in the world with your shoes; we’re talking about the insoles. Have you ever really looked at the original insoles that come with shoes? Check it out! Grab your shoes, regardless of them being brand new or seasoned with experience, and pull out the insoles…. Are they 1/8thof an inch, or at best ¼ inch of foam? If they are, that isn’t very much protection for your feet, which happen to be absorbing an average of 63.5 tons of force in just a 1 mile walk.(1.) Stock shoe insoles may have cool designs with modern appeal that “blend well” with the style of the shoe, but are they really doing as much as they could, or should?

So what is the issue with those “stock” “foam” insoles? For starters, do you really think big brands such as: Nike, Adidas, Saucony, New Balance, etc. spend most of their time designing their insoles? … Not really. And why is that? Well, simply its not their industry. Don’t get us wrong, a nice pair of good-looking shoes is a great thing to have, but with out the proper insoles you can selling yourself short in comfort of your shoes.

Take this bit of info into thought: “stock” insoles are primarily made out of “foam” material. Foam, when stripped of its often misunderstood name, is simply “bubbles” and “capsules” that absorb impact by compressing, or “popping.” How many times can a bubble pop/compress and still provide consistent protection? Not much. To sum things up, foam insoles have a very short lifespan. RxSorbo insoles on the other hand are made with a visco-elastic polymer that after it absorbs the impact it rebounds to its normal shape.

~Take a look at the insoles that are currently in your shoes are they just "foam"?~

Now what makes our insoles the best?? (In our opinion at least)

RxSorbo insoles are made of Sorbothane®, which absorb shock and provide protection to your body with every step you take. Most RxSorbo insoles were created to replace your “stock” insoles and provide you with that extra comfort and protection your body deserves. (We do create some very thin insoles that can, if you like, go over your existing insoles like the SorboGel, or the SorboLite)

So why did RxSorbo choose Sorbothane® over what any of the “other” insole companies use?

Since its introduction, 25 years ago, Sorbothane® has been used in many varied energy absorbing product categories. Sorbothane Inc. engineers supplied the NASA design team with a unique Sorbothane® isolator to protect shuttle cameras from the violent forces thrust upon them during launch. NASA also uses Sorbothane to isolate pumps on the International Space Station and to vibration/shock mount electronics on the new ARES I rocket — the replacement for the Space Shuttle, due to launch in 2012. The Liberty Bell was successfully moved using specially designed Sorbothane® isolators. When Wilson® Sporting Goods needed a superior shock absorber, for their new line of high-tech baseball gloves, they turned to Sorbothane®.

Think about this: if NASA trusts Sorbothane to protect its extremely fragile multimillion dollar equipment, imagine what it can do for your feet?

RxSorbo® insoles are excellent for everyone who walks, works, plays sports or spends long hours on their feet. RxSorbo® insoles have been proven to dramatically help individuals experiencing foot discomfort caused by medical conditions such as shin splits, heel spurs and ulcerations caused by diabetes. So whether you are putting them into your new shoes or simply giving your old shoes a well needed upgrade try a pair of RxSorbo insoles, isn’t your body worth it?

An original article, studying the effects cushioned insoles have in reducing impact forces during running, was published in the January/February 2008 issue of the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Test subjects performed five running trials with a running shoe only and five running trials with the running shoe and a Sorbothane® shock absorbing insoles. The results showed that the use of the Sorbothane® cushioned insoles during running significantly reduced peak impact force compared to the shoe-only condition.

Sorbothane® is the only insole material that absorbs up to 94.7% of impact shock. Unlike standard insole materials, which can bottom out and lose effectiveness, Sorbothane® never waivers under any conditions. Durable and comfortable, Sorbothane® performance insoles retain their orthotic benefits and shock absorbing properties month after month. Lightweight and antifungal, they also breathe, which makes for a much cooler insole.

Sorbothane insoles have been highly recommended by doctors, sports medicine specialists and professional trainers for decades. Sorbothane® insoles have proven to be the best defense against foot pain, back pain and impact-related injuries such as Achilles tendonitis, runner™ knee and shin splints.

Sorbothane®, a one-of-a-kind visco-elastic polymer, was first introduced in 1982. Primary applications included the development of shock absorbing insoles for the athletic and orthopedic markets. Sorbothane® insoles have been highly recommended by doctors, sports medicine specialists and professional trainers for decades. Sorbothane® insoles have proven to be the best defense against foot pain, back pain and impact-related injuries. Manufactured in the heart of the “polymer valley” in Kent, Ohio, Sorbothane® quickly gained worldwide recognition for its ability to achieve remarkable shock absorbing levels. This new material reduced shock so dramatically that it was actually featured on national TV programs such as “THAT’S INCREDIBLE” numerous times.

The Liberty Bell was successfully moved using specially designed Sorbothane® isolators. When Wilson® Sporting Goods needed a superior shock absorber, for their new line of high-tech baseball gloves, they turned to Sorbothane ®. Most recently, engineers have devised a series of colossal “ball-in-box” Sorbothane® dampers designed to dissipate wind energy in the new Air Force memorial.

Sorbothane®, a proprietary material, is custom molded and specified by engineers worldwide for its superior damping and isolation properties and scientifically proven to be the finest cushioning material available. In many applications and laboratory tests Sorbothane

Sorbothane ® has achieved shock absorption levels of up to 94.7%. Unprecedented absorption levels are possible because Sorbothane

After a quarter of a century of proven performance Sorbothane, Inc. continues to be the ideal choice for a variety of engineering design applications requiring shock absorption and vibration isolation.
